Fast Group

a reliable partner in the global shipping industry.
Last week two students Logistics Management at KdG university college did an internship in Short Sea Shipping at Fast Lines Belgium. Here’s what Alexander Collela and Maxim Neyrinck wrote:

“During this one-week internship our mission was to follow and document every step of a shortsea shipment. We got to follow a shipment of Wienerberger bricks from Bornem to Goole.
Instead of only showing us exactly what was assigned to us, Fast Lines brought our internship to the next level and took us on several field trips.
We were given a tour in the Wienerberger stone bakery where we also got to see how the pallets were loaded into a barge.

In just this one week, we also visited the SCR-Sibelco N.V. site and the only All Weather Terminal in the port of Antwerp at Wijngaard Natie.

As a finishing touch to our internship, we went to Bornem to visit Fast Wil, the coaster that ships the bricks.

The Fast Team showed us the whole picture of the logistics chain instead of just a single department.

It was a great experience and it was very interesting to see a lot we learned in school become reality, but also to learn how some things don’t always go as planned.

We would like to thank the whole Fast Lines team to warmly welcome us into the company and kindly answer all our questions!”

Alexander and Maxim, the pleasure was ours and we hope  you felt "the passion for shortsea" in Flemish 'goesting in kustbevrachting'' !

Because as we tent to say : there is still plenty of space on the waterway.
